We are located in the Historical Los Angeles Fashion District in Downtown LA. Down the street from the world-renowned Santee Alley and only a 2 block walk from DTLA fabric and notion stores.

Where is parking at The Kut Studios? What is the cost?
Metered Street Parking
$4/hour until 11:00am - 6:00pm FREE STREET PARKING AFTER 6pm
Parking Garage:
Parking garages are available up and down santee street. Prices vary at each.
Is there security in the building?
No, but The Kut Studios is video monitored during business hours. Please use at your own risk. We are not responsible to for loss, damage, or theft. please always lock the door when you come in and let the gate down while inside at night.

What is The Kut Studios cancellation policy?
Once passes are booked and payment is sent, there are NO REFUNDS or Transfers.
Can I reschedule my booking dates?
If you would like to reschedule the date of your booking, please email us at info@thekutstudios.com before the start of your booking. Once your booking time has begun, you are no longer eligible to reschedule your booking date.
When I book a pass, what is the procedure for getting into the studio?
Because The Kut Studios is a partially automated facility, upon booking your pass, you will receive a confirmation email with your booking details. Additionally, you will receive a second email with a special door code to access the lock box for the keys to enter. Visit The Kut's Maker's Space page to view the video of how to access the studio.
Can I bring a guest to The Kut Studios with me during my booking?
Yes. You are allowed to bring 1 guest with you during your booking. Guests are not allowed to use tools in the studio. This feature allows you to bring a guest to do fittings or tailoring for your client. They are not allowed to use sewing machines, cutting tables, equipment or tools. If we find that your guest does, you will automatically be charged for a single day pass for your guest.
Do you teach sewing classes at The Kut Studios?
Yes! Every Sunday we offer group beginner sewing classes at the kut studios. Visit the Shop Classes Page to join today! no experience or tools required!
Can I store my belongings at The Kut Studios?
Yes. If you book a Week Pass or 30 Day Pass you are able to store you belongings for the duration of your pass in specially marked bins, for your convenience. Please contact Info@thekutstudios.com if you need one with your booking.
I know The Kut Studios provides different types of sewing machines, am I allowed to bring my own?
Yes. We know that some people are more comfortable working with their own machine but just need a little more space to spread out and work. There are stations available in the studio for you to set up you own home sewing machine. This space is first come, first serve.
The Tools page says you provide Fabric, Notions and Trims, is that really free?
Yes! The owner is a designer herself and, like most designers, has amassed a lot of fabrics, notions, and trims over time. She wanted to give back to the designers that come to work in our little designer community. Any fabric, notions, and/ or trim bin marked “The Kut Studios” is available to pass holders. Please be kind and only use what you need and leave some for others. And if you would like to “pay it forward” feel free to donate excess fabric and trims to The Kut Studio too!
Is The Kut Studios only for established fashion designers or can beginner designers get passes?
The Kut Studios is available to all designers, crafter and artisans with a passion for creating! We are a safe space for beginners and professionals alike. If you are a beginner and are not sure of how to use a certain type of machine, do not use it. Safety is a top priority at The Kut Studios. However, we have industrial and home sewing machines to fit different skill levels. Ask one of our studio associates for help anytime.
Does The Kut Studios offer student discounts?
Yes! The Kut Studios offers a student discount of 15% off all passes for CURRENT LATTC & FIDM students. Students interested in receiving this discount must email info@thekutstudios.com with a picture of their current student Identification to receive the code to enter during checkout.
How close is The Kut Studios to the fabric and notion stores in the LA Fashion District?
We are only a 10-minute walk to the fabric district. We are located near the corner of Santee and 11th. The fabric stores start at the corner of Santee and 9th! That’s only 2 blocks away!
If I wanted to come by and take a look before purchasing a pass, do I have to make an appointment?
No Need for an appointment. Our normal Showroom hours are 11am - 5pm Monday - Friday and 11am-3pm Saturday/. Sunday. Any Associate can show you around the Maker's Space. But feel free to send us an email Info@thekutstudios.com. Let us know the date and time you would like to come by and we will be happy to show you around!
